About Sun Salt Silver | Handcrafted Silver & Stone Jewelry
I didn't set out to start a jewelry business. I followed a spark of curiosity.
I've always been drawn to making things with my hands. My dad and grandpa were both makers, and growing up, I watched them create, build, and shape with purpose. I didn't know it at the time, but that kind of artistry left a mark on me.
Years later, I found myself craving something more. Something that felt true to who I was becoming. I stumbled into silversmithing out of curiosity, and the first time I held a torch and shaped metal, I knew. It was like I'd come home to something that had always been waiting for me.
At first, I made pieces just for myself, then for friends. But soon it became clear: other women were craving the same thing I was. Jewelry that felt real. That meant something. That helped them express who they are in a way that words couldn't.
That's how Sun Salt Silver was born.
What I Make
Handcrafted silver and stone jewelry. One of a kind. Designed to be lived in, not saved.
My work has weight and presence. It is not delicate or dainty.
Stone-forward, silver as support. The stone is the star. Silver exists to honor and elevate it, never to compete.
I intentionally pair stones with coordinating matrices and unexpected color combinations. My designs are often recognizable by their vertical totem structure - stones stacked or composed in a way that feels grounded, intentional, and totemic.
I create small inlaid scenes and geometric forms within the silverwork. It adds narrative and dimension to each piece.
Organic, textured, lived-in finishes. Oxidation, hammered finishes, satin polish. Nothing is too precious. Everything is meant to be worn.
My Aesthetic
Modern Desert Nouveau meets Coastal Desert Alchemy.
Desert-inspired without being Western. Ocean-inspired without being beachy. Stone-forward without being traditional.
Romantic without being fussy. Modern without being cold. Bold but gentle.
Earthy and textured with desert sunrise warmth. Soft shadows, warm neutrals, and subtle light catching silver.
Not glossy. Not overly minimal. Not mystical. Grounded and real.
Who It's For
Sun Salt Silver is not for everyone.
It is for the woman who has lived, who knows, and who no longer feels the need to prove it.
She values depth over trend, substance over decoration, and quality over quantity.
She buys for herself. Not to mark an occasion. Not to impress. Not to justify.
When something feels like her, she knows.
How I Work
I am entirely self-taught. My skills were built through trial, error, and refining my instincts at the bench. No formal training. Just slow, committed practice and a willingness to let the work teach me.
Each piece begins with a story, a stone, or a spark of inspiration. From there, I handcraft every detail using traditional silversmithing techniques.
No mass production. Just raw silver, fire, and feeling. I let the piece unfold as it's meant to, guided by instinct and the soul of the stone.
I don't sketch first. I let the stone lead. My designs are intuitive and stone-led.
Salt, heart, + thanks,
René
