About Sun Salt Silver | Handcrafted Silver & Stone Jewelry

I’m still amazed by the extraordinary beauty hidden in the natural world. From the impossible blue of turquoise to the fire inside an opal, I catch myself stopping to admire what has already been created. Every stone reminds me that beauty isn’t something we manufacture. It’s something we learn to recognize.

That belief became the foundation of Sun Salt Silver.

My grandfather and father were both silversmiths, and my father later became a painter. Their creativity planted something in me that waited quietly for years. When I finally picked up a torch, something clicked. Working with silver and natural stone felt like every part of who I am had finally found the same language: my love of the natural world, my appreciation for craftsmanship, my family’s creative legacy, my faith, my curiosity, and my desire to create something meaningful.

Over the past two years, I’ve built Sun Salt Silver into a working business, not just a creative outlet. I handcraft rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, cuffs, and pendants—often in small, cohesive collections—along with custom pieces made for specific stories and milestones. My pieces currently range from approximately $90 to $880, reflecting the time, materials, and craftsmanship involved in each design.

My customers are drawn to natural materials, meaningful design, and jewelry that feels like it carries a story. I build each piece slowly and intentionally in my Phoenix, Arizona studio, using natural stones and precious metals, and I reinvest continually in better tools, photography, and a customer experience that feels as considered as the work itself.

I’ve come to realize that I’m not simply building a jewelry business. I’m building a business that helps people notice and carry the extraordinary beauty that already surrounds them. Jewelry just happens to be the language I speak.

The answer to why I love this work is never just the finished piece. It’s watching transformation happen. A sheet of silver becomes something lasting. A stone that spent millions of years forming finds a home that honors its story. I don’t create beauty. I create opportunities for people to encounter it.

My hope is that when you wear Sun Salt Silver, you don’t just feel beautifully adorned—you move through the world with a little more wonder, gratitude, and awareness of the beauty that was there all along.

Salt, heart, + thanks,

René
