Blue-green abalone shimmers between faceted gray spinel and a dark fossilized shark tooth in this sculptural silver ring. A black spinel accent adds another point of contrast beside the fossil, while a flowing silver edge traces its triangular form. Wear it on its own when you want shifting ocean color and a strong silhouette to carry the look.

At a glance

  • Ring size: Finished to your selected size
  • Setting size: Approximately 1.06 inches
  • Shell: Natural abalone
  • Stones: Faceted gray and black spinel
  • Centerpiece: Fossilized shark tooth
  • Metals: Fine and sterling silver
  • Band: Split shank
  • Finish: Oxidized with polished highlights
  • Design: One of a kind

Handmade by René M. Bailey of Sun Salt Silver, the setting brings shell, fossil, and faceted stones into an asymmetric vertical composition. The silver frame leaves the tooth’s dark surface visible, with polished curves and darkened recesses defining the design.

Care: Sterling silver naturally patinas with wear. Polish with a soft cloth to restore shine, or let the oxidation deepen for contrast. Avoid harsh chemicals and prolonged water exposure to protect the shell and fossil.

Materials

Each Sun Salt Silver piece is handcrafted using sterling and fine silver with natural stones chosen for their character, color, and story.

I work primarily with turquoise, opal, gemstones, shark tooth fossils, and other stones that feel grounded and alive. No two stones are identical — natural variations are part of the beauty.

All jewelry is made by hand in my studio using traditional silversmithing techniques. The result is work that feels substantial, personal, and meant to be worn for years.

Care & Longevity

Sun Salt Silver jewelry is made to be worn and lived in. With a little care, your piece will keep its beauty for years.

Because many designs feature natural stones like turquoise, opal, shell, or fossilized materials, treat your jewelry gently.

A few simple guidelines:

• Remove before swimming, showering, or working with your hands
• Avoid lotions, perfumes, and cleaning products
• Store pieces separately to prevent scratching
• Gently polish silver with a soft cloth when needed
• Keep silk away from water, perfume, and lotions. Store flat or loosely coiled.

Natural stones can be sensitive to water and chemicals. Keeping your jewelry dry and stored safely will help preserve its color and finish.
